We have the loveliest tree, this Christmas. In fact, we have the loveliest Christmas ! Our whole town got together and planned it, weeks ago, because people didn't like how things looked last year, with every house a different color. So this year, it was decided that every porch would be trimmed with blue lights, and every front door would have a big, big wreath on it and no other decoration. Everything looks wonderful, especially at twilight, when the lights go on and the snow looks a mysterious blue. Last night, when the carolers sang under our window, they were like a picture, with the yellow light from their lanterns shining on their faces, and the blue light all around them. I think I know what one of my presents will be a pair of ice skates with white shoes! The reason I suspect it is that my mother got me the cutest red skating dress and suggested that I take some lessons in figure skating. Wouldn't YOU guess skates for a present? Oh, I DO hope so!
P.S. I was RIGHT. And Daddy is taking me skating later. He says I must hold on to his hand—not because he thinks I may fall down, but because he's afraid HE will! Isn't he sly? And don't I know he's fooling!
This is Betsy McCall in her knitted nylon-stretch ruffled blouse and her red leotard
Won't she look cute whirling about in her flared skating dress of stretch nylon knit?
Now, how about this? It's her check jump suit, so-o-o comfy in Dacron-and-nylon stretch !
